Royal Palms Weddings

You will find the beautiful Royal Palms Scottsdale sitting at the foot of Camelback Mountain. This resort has an extensive history leading all the way back to the 1920s where the site was home to a mansion in the Spanish Colonial architecture style. The mansion was built by Delos Willard Cooke, a nephew of J.P. Morgan. It was designed to blend Mediterranean architecture with the beautiful Arizona desert. By the late 1940’s, the mansion had been converted to an inn. Over time, it slowly grew into one of the most prestigious places for relaxation and luxury in Scottsdale. Today, the Royal Palms Scottsdale has expanded into a popular resort; however, it still maintains those initial Mediterranean touches created by the Cooke family, making it a picturesque venue that reflects a bit of European tradition in the desert.

Brief History of Royal Palms Wedding Venue

As mentioned before, one of the most prominent features of Royal Palms Scottsdale is the Mediterranean architecture that mirrors a Spanish Colonial style, which is one thing that many people have found help compliment the most beautiful wedding photos. While the resort features many types of rooms, a novel approach is the casitas style, which are spacious rooms with gas fireplaces designed to maximize natural light. Another part of the Royal Palms Scottsdale that merits mentioning is the Alegria Garden, a courtyard with beautiful stone walls surrounded by fragrant citrus trees.

Noteworthy features Of Royal Palms Scottsdale

Estrella Salon
This space can fit up to 300 for a reception or 180 for a seated meal. It is adorned with Moorish architecture such as wrought iron chandeliers and warm Mediterranean colors. An advantage of this space is the adjoining Estrella Garden, providing a walled private space for guests as well as the patio and Reflecting Pool.

Palmera Salon
For a mid-sized wedding, the Palmera Salon will accommodate between 120 and 200 guests depending on organization. It includes an adjacent lounge that is perfect for cocktails and has similar décor to the Estrella Salon. One of the aspects about this area that is loved by guests is the ornate fireplace.

Alegria Garden
With the Alegria Garden being one of the resort’s iconic features, it is no surprise that it is also a popular choice for weddings. This centerpiece of this courtyard is an elevated stone platform that is perfect for saying “I do.” This setting is truly a photographer’s dream, providing a wealth of opportunities for beautiful photos of the happy couple and great candid photos of guests enjoying the festivities. It can host 80 to 120 people.

Vernadero Lawn
For a larger outdoor wedding, the Vernadero Lawn provides space for up to 200 people. Here, you will find carefully orchestrated mood lighting stringing amongst the palm trees and unparalleled views of Camelback Mountain. This is a place where you can make your fairy tale wedding truly come to life.

Orange Grove
As the name would suggest, this is an actual orange grove. In fact, it was original to the resort, renovated recently to provide yet another beautiful option for your Royal Palms wedding. One of the major features of this area is a trellised fireplace, which makes a great backdrop for photos. This area seats 130 or can hold 200 for a standing reception.
