We photographed Courtney and Charlie’s wedding at the Andaz Scottsdale Resort a few weekends ago. It was one of the most touching and heartfelt ceremonies we have ever had the honor of documenting. This ceremony wasn’t just the joining of two of the kindest people we have ever known, but the blending of two incredible families that had been dear friends for 25 years. As Courtney and Charlie shared their vows, there weren’t many dry eyes in the place, including my own!

For those of you who are familiar with Courtney and Charlie’s story, you know it’s one their kids are going to love hearing over and over again. And for those of you who are not, I encourage you to check it out here! It has all the makings of a fantastic Rom Com, which I would, of course, watch; however, we will continue to enjoy their engagement blog until that time comes.
The wedding day.
Courtney and Charlie are best friends of 21 years, and they know all there is to know about one another. In Courtney’s words,” Charlie is a massively huge University of Arizona basketball fan,” which I learned during groomsmen prep-shots; not only is that a very true statement but also 3-points are not his strong suit. Courtney’s perfect gift for Charlie; 3 video cameos from U of A basketball legends Sean Elliot, Miles Simon, and Damon Stroudmaire! The experience was both inspiring and comical watching these basketball greats give Charlie some solid 3-point coaching and marital advice.
The Reception.
During toasts, the Maid of Honor shared her and Courtney’s hilarious adventures with their braces and, of course, the always entertaining; early encounters with boys. The Best Man gave Charlie a plush football the boys got out of a vending machine which was also apparently part of a childhood rivalry between the two. However, it now seemed that the plush football had finally changed hands to its rightful owner. The evening continued with live music from the JJ’s Band; friends from childhood, high school, and college all came together to celebrate Courtney and Carlie’s wedding with their two incredible families.
Courtney and Charlie, we could not have asked for a better experience than what we shared with you and your families. Being around such an incredible group of people has impacted our lives in the best way. We are grateful every day that you choose us to document your Scottsdale Andaz Resort wedding; the details were stunning, as are the both of you. We love you both dearly; thank you for being part of our family and allowing us the honor of being part of yours.
